Medicare Part B Premium and Deductibles
Medicare Part B has a monthly premium, as well as a yearly deductible and covers 2 types of services:
- Medically necessary services to diagnose or treat a medical condition.
- Preventive services and health care to prevent and detect illnesses at an early age. Including outpatient doctor visits, tests/screenings, clinical research, ambulance services, durable medical equipment (i.e. wheelchairs), etc.

Premium
$164.90
2023 Medicare Part B Premiums will DECREASE by $5.20 per month to $164.90, down from $170.10 in 2022.
2023 Part B
Deductible
$226.00
The Medicare Part B Deductible will DECREASE by $7.00 per year to $226.00, down from $233.00 in 2022.
Medicare Part B and Part D
Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amounts (IRMAA)
In 2023, most people will pay $164.90 for their Part B Premium. However, if your income falls above a certain amount ($97,000+ for an individual or $194,000+ for a couple), you may have to pay a penalty in addition to your premium, known as Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA).
