IRMAA Penalty Appeals
Did you receive a letter from Social Security or Medicare claiming that you owe an
IRMAA Penalty? We can help!
What Is An IRMAA Penalty?
In 2022, most people will pay $170.10 for their Part B Premium.
However, if your income falls above a certain amount ($91,000+ for an individual or $182,000+ for a couple), you may have to pay a penalty in addition to your premium, known as Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA).
What Can I Do?
IRMAA is determined by income from your income tax returns two years prior.
There is a formalized appeals process to be redetermined in case of errors or if your financial situation has changed due loss of income, divorce or other life-altering events.
